Wang Chuanliang Visit Universities in Hong Kong and Macau

Beijing, 2nd November, 2016 (BISTU)--- Upon invitation, BISTU delegation led by Chairman of University Council Wang Chuanliang visit University of Macau, Savannah College of Art and Design(SCAD) Hong Kong Campus, and Chinese University of Hong Kong from 24th to 28th October, 2016. The delegation exchange and communicate with these institutions on inter-school cooperation, exchange and training of management staff, students exchange projects, etc. The delegation also visit Beijing-HongKong Exchange of Personnel Centre Ltd. of State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs and build a new platform for BISTUs staff training, brain gain, and inter-school cooperation in Hong Kong.  


The delegation firstly visit University of Macau, the first modern university and the only comprehensive, public university in Macau. State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine at Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences of University of Macau is the prime destination. The Lab focuses on education of undergraduate students, with globalized faculties and emphasis on frontier research and economic benefits of scientific development. It has referential implications for education and research at BISTU. The delegation also visit new campus of University of Macau, a very impressive modern campus.  


Savannah College of Art and Design(SCAD) is the largest art college of the US as well as one of the largest in the world. A number of world famous designers and a large quantity of Disney designers graduate from this college. At Savannah College of Art and Design(SCAD) Hong Kong Campus, Wang Chuanliang discusses education and syllabi with Ms. Kalen Curtis, Director of Recruitment, who also accompanies the delegation in campus tour. The Campus has inspiring implications for spatial construction of BISTU in respect of interior design and atmosphere making.


And the delegation visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the leading university in Hong Kong as well as in Asia. It is viewed as a world class academic center for five areas, i.e., Chinese studies, information science, economics and finance, GIS and earth science, and bio-medical science. The delegation, after the campus tour, conduct discussion with the University on faculty visit, training of managerial staff, and other relating issues and both institutions reach consensus on future cooperation.  


In addition, Wang Chuanliang and delegation members specially pay a visit to Beijing-HongKong Exchange of Personnel Centre Ltd. of State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs. On behalf of the Center, General Manager Wei Dawei and Wang Chuanliang reach consensus on a series of cooperative programs to  be conducted, i.e., building training base in Hong Kong, introduction of high-end intellectuals, construction of joint lab, short-term and long-term faculty and student exchange, etc. The visit helps establish a new platform for BISTU to cooperate with Hong Kong institutions and enterprises and will play a key role in the future.  

The delegation members include Wang Lei, Director of Office for Publicity of University Council, Chen Xin, Director of Human Resources Office, Dr. Lu Jing, Director of International Cooperation Department, and Wang Zhiyong, Deputy Director of General Administration Office.
