Beijing, 31st October, 2016 (BISTU)--- Upon invitation of Halmstad University and Linn¨¦universitetet (Linnaeus University), BISTU delegation led by Vice President Xu Baojie visit the two institutions to further push forward exchange and cooperation. ¡¡
In the first destination Halmstad University, the delegation meet and talk with Professor Ulf Ivarsson, Professor Torben, and Professor Diffesoreusen. Offering a positive remark to Halmstad¡¯s effective work in helping students with exchange programs, Xu Baojie says that BISTU has completed a new Five Year Plan with focus on innovative competence of students and internationalization of education. Students would be provided more opportunities. It is hoped that the two institutions work even closer in the future. Professor Diffesoreusen summarizes on 2016 summer program and points out that the program is important for students to choose studying abroad in the future. Prof. Torben introduces his latest simulation teaching scheme based on internet and mobile applications. Both institutions agree to strengthen cooperation and broaden the field of exchange and communication. And Prof. Ulf Ivarsson shows the delegation around Lab of Smart Home, lab for High Frequency Electromagnetic Compatibility, student innovation center, and health management lab.
Prof. Stefan Haglund and Prof. Mark Fennelly, who are responsible for international cooperation of Linnaeus University, extend welcome to BISTU delegation. Prof. Stefan Haglund offers a detailed introduction to basic information of the University, international education, and summer programs available. The University attaches great importance to exchange and cooperation with other countries, especially Asian countries. Currently dual projects have been in operation with Shanghai Maritime University, Wuhan University of Technology, etc. Xu Baojie introduces BISTU and strategic development on internationalization and hopes that both universities would work even closer together. The delegation and Linnaeus University then explore details on summer programs, 3+1 dual degree project, and other areas of mutual interest. Linnaeus University will visit BISTU as soon as possible to put these discussion into practice.
